a sequence that naturally folds into a given shape, that shape has independent stability. Now maybe you want to throw a bunch of other shapes around it, but not directly attached to it and now it misfolds. It is still independently stable because if those other shapes are made stable, and that first shape is untouched, it will also end up stable. It is only misfolding because the other shapes are grabbing at it, not because it won't hold up on its own.
