External Loop

External loop.
An external loop contains both ends of the RNA molecule, and at least one adjoining stack. External loop energy is calculated in a manner similar to that of multiloops.


In EteRNA, this structural element is also commonly referred to as dangling ends, hook, open loop or starting loop.
