LFP6 gives a thumbs up [12:08 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: finally decied to poke around while waiting for devs [12:09 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: anyone have anyting they would like to dicsuss while we wait for the devs [12:09 AM]

LFP6: Well, I am almost done doing those script alterations you wanted [12:10 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: cool [12:11 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: the one I eamiled yesterday [12:11 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: or PM [12:11 AM]

LFP6: PM [12:11 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: @LFP6 your Eternacon wiki is about to become very usefull [12:12 AM]

LFP6: Not sure what email you're talking about [12:11 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: not that is not already [12:12 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: meant PM'd [12:12 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: Spoke with Caleb last night and going to try to piggy back teh weekly devchat announcment with an Eternacon announment linking to the wiki [12:12 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: "Join us for Eternacon 2016. See the wiki for info." kinda thing [12:13 AM]

LFP6: Wearing my Eterna shirt right now :) [12:17 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: nicve [12:17 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: nice [12:17 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: maybe we shoudl sell clothing. someone mentioned that for funding [12:18 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: and on a different note I am running the [A[ / [B] labs through DPAT right not from last round. Hoping to find some cool stuff [12:18 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: So not sure where teh devs are. Anyone have any thoughts on teh new A/B labs? [12:20 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: I think that would be a meaningfull discussion. [12:20 AM]

LFP6: Ok Jen, just edited my script with the exact match functionality. Just put whatever literal you want to match in quotes [12:24 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: cool thanks [12:24 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: that will help with some of the stuff [12:24 AM]

LFP6: I'm assuming that's what you wanted? [12:24 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: yep [12:25 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: so it is just like browsers [12:25 AM]

LFP6: Cool. Test it out and let me know if you run into any issues. [12:25 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: if its in quotes it is a literal if not in quotes then keyword search [12:25 AM]

LFP6: Yup [12:25 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: great [12:25 AM]

LFP6: Add quotes and it will search the whole phrase [12:25 AM]

LFP6: Not the individual words [12:25 AM]

Jennifer Pearl:  I will play with it later tonight [12:26 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: great that is waht I was looking for [12:26 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: ran into stuff with last lab where some of teh sublabs had teh same base name [12:26 AM]

calebgeniesse: hey guys [12:26 AM]

calebgeniesse: whatsup [12:26 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: hi caleb [12:27 AM]

LFP6: Hey Caleb! [12:27 AM]

Raumlord: hey guys whats up yo [12:28 AM]

LFP6: What do you mean by same base name? The current functionality should require all keywords to be present. Is it just an order thing? [12:28 AM]

Raumlord: i have question [12:28 AM]

Raumlord: so i just got to rank 995 when do i get top 1000 badge [12:28 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: I mean liek a root phrase. an example is the Exlusion NG 1 and the Exlusion NG 1 Small Loop [12:28 AM]

Raumlord: jennifer [12:28 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: If I look for Exlcusion NG 1 I get like 3 different sublabs in my search results [12:29 AM]

Raumlord: jennifer! [12:29 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: Hi raumlord [12:29 AM]

LFP6: Huh [12:29 AM]

Raumlord: hi [12:29 AM]

Raumlord: did you see my question [12:29 AM]

LFP6: Oooh [12:29 AM]

LFP6: This would not change that [12:29 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: oh [12:30 AM]

LFP6: As it only says look for what's in the quotes, not ignore everything else [12:30 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: @raumpord that is a question for caleb [12:30 AM]

LFP6: I can add that though! [12:30 AM]

Raumlord: caleb! [12:30 AM]

calebgeniesse: hi raumlord, it sounds like it might be a bug [12:30 AM]

calebgeniesse: ill take a look [12:30 AM]

LFP6: If you really want, I can let you put a regular expression in :P [12:30 AM]

Raumlord: cool beans man thanks for lookin into it [12:30 AM]

Raumlord: maybe it takes a bit to update [12:30 AM]

calebgeniesse: np [12:30 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: I dont have alot of experience with regular expressions [12:31 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: only used them a couple times [12:31 AM]

LFP6: Neither did I until just recently. They're pretty magic when dealing with data formatting [12:31 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: @caleb any news for us [12:31 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: @LFP6 do you you think will work for this issue and I will take a look [12:32 AM]

LFP6: Ok Jen, what I'm doing is adding a search type called "exact title", which will do just that [12:32 AM]

LFP6: You could do it by ID too FYI [12:32 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: good point [12:33 AM]

calebgeniesse: sorry, nothing exciting [12:33 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: I like the exact title idea [12:33 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: did you talk to Rhiju about the funding thing? [12:33 AM]

calebgeniesse: though, has anyone checked out their newsfeed lately.... [12:34 AM]

calebgeniesse: not yet, he has been busy [12:34 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: ok [12:34 AM]

calebgeniesse: let me know how you guys feel about the new chronological layout! [12:34 AM]

LFP6: Um [12:34 AM]

LFP6: Newsfeed is not showing up [12:34 AM]

LFP6: Is blank. [12:35 AM]

calebgeniesse: really? when you click on the newsfeed from home page? thats not good... glad i asked hahaha [12:37 AM]

LFP6: mmhmm [12:37 AM]

calebgeniesse: does the more message button appear [12:37 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: I get that all the time It takes a minute to load for mew [12:37 AM]

LFP6: Yes, the button's there [12:37 AM]

hoglahoo: it usually takes about 3 seconds for mine to load. it has been about 3 minutes so far this time :) [12:38 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: Whe I load my feed it imediatly goes to the list of lab rewards form 3 years ago [12:38 AM]

LFP6: "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'timestamp' of undefined" [12:38 AM]

LFP6: I'm assuming that's the issue [12:38 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: I have to click on all to see my messages, news  and lab stuff on one page [12:38 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: that issue is now [12:39 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: and new [12:39 AM]

calebgeniesse: okay, i think i know whats going on [12:39 AM]

calebgeniesse: i tried ordering them by their timestamp... i dont have any lab rewards though, so i must have missed a bug arising from those [12:40 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: I have alot from back in the day., I think tha is where all ,my points came from lol [12:42 AM]

LFP6: Well, Rhiju had me to a mockup of a widget for this week per my idea. I have one, is that something you want to see Caleb? [12:47 AM]

calebgeniesse: yeah! [12:49 AM]

calebgeniesse: lets see it [12:49 AM]

LFP6: http://www.eternagame.org/web/script/6668858/ [12:49 AM]

LFP6: So, it's really hacky [12:49 AM]

LFP6: Not how I would implement it for "production", and missing a couple features [12:49 AM]

calebgeniesse: wait.. what are these for? [12:50 AM]

LFP6: But it's based on an idea that was brought up at a past dev chat, to be able to see your status on lab submissions [12:50 AM]

calebgeniesse: i actually have been implementing something very similar [12:50 AM]

LFP6: Heh [12:50 AM]

calebgeniesse: one sec [12:51 AM]

LFP6: The idea was to put these guys on the main page, so you could display whatever type of data you want [12:51 AM]

LFP6: As a player [12:51 AM]

LFP6: Make your own or add someone else's [12:51 AM]

calebgeniesse: ohhh [12:51 AM]

calebgeniesse: wait so, they arent necessarily for seeing your status on lab submissions? they are widgets that players have control over? [12:52 AM]

LFP6: I made a pseudo-framework, where you can specify a title, add a progress bar or (theoretically) button, or words/HTML [12:52 AM]

LFP6: etc [12:52 AM]

LFP6: Player's choice! [12:52 AM]

calebgeniesse: what else might people use them for [12:52 AM]

LFP6: Maybe I want to see my PMs on the front page [12:52 AM]

calebgeniesse: i like this idea [12:52 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: that is cool [12:52 AM]

LFP6: Or the status of some labs [12:52 AM]

calebgeniesse: so its a mechanism for displaying some sort of information [12:53 AM]

LFP6: Or share news for a personal project with followers [12:53 AM]

LFP6: Exactly [12:53 AM]

LFP6: Theoretically, this could be done so that there's no limit on height, but the designer could specify full, half, third, or quarter width (they can do one, some, or all), and the user could choose which they want [12:54 AM]

LFP6: Drag them around [12:54 AM]

LFP6: Adjust settings [12:54 AM]

LFP6: etc [12:54 AM]

calebgeniesse: cool [12:54 AM]

calebgeniesse: i like it [12:54 AM]

LFP6: All while maintaining a standard widget "look", more or less, with a framework where you can just add a button, or progress bar, or whatever [12:54 AM]

calebgeniesse: would the player script it, or would we need a ui to interface with your framework [12:55 AM]

LFP6: Player scripted [12:55 AM]

LFP6: But I see no reason why why a UI can't be built in Eternascript even :) [12:55 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: Eternascript is built on javascript right [12:57 AM]

LFP6: Yup [12:57 AM]

Jennifer Pearl: cool we use javascript at work so I will be learning it soon [12:57 AM]

LFP6: I could work on a JS "API" of sorts, there just needs to be a way for palyers to add them to their homepage, possibly in place of quests (quests would be widgets themselves) [12:57 AM]

LFP6: Though that would need to wait a couple weeks, as I'm waist deep in another webd ev project whose deadline is coming up [12:57 AM]

LFP6: *web dev [12:58 AM]
